In the afternoon and evening – arrival of participants and accommodation in the hostel (each student gets a full program for the Summer School giving the location of every event)

22 July – Monday
8.00 - 9.00 – breakfast in the student cafeteria at DHM
9.00 - 13.00 – Croatian language testing, deployment in groups, classes
13.00 - 14.00 – lunch (packed meal for dinner)
14.00 - 18.00 – free time or individual classes on Croatian language (for those students who paid for individual lessons)
21.00 – formal opening ceremony of the Summer School with the play Bez trećega (by Croatian writer Milan Begović, performance by Croatian National Theatre); welcoming speeches by representatives of the City of Zadar, County of Zadar, University of Zadar and other sponsors (location: Providur’s Palace, summer site of the Croatian National Theatre in Zadar)
22.00 – buffet (location: ground floor of the Rectorate building of University of Zadar)

23 July – Tuesday

Arrival at Preko around 10.00 (according to the ferry timetable)
Reception at Mayor of Municipality of Preko
Students will be acquainted with traditional culture of the island, traditional music, folk costumes, and traditions
Sightseeing tour
Visit to the island of Galovac and the monastery
Lunch at the restaurant Jardin
Free afternoon
Individual return to Zadar (according to the ferry timetable)
Last ferries leave Preko at 20.45 and 23.00

9.00 - 13.00 – visit to the Museum of Ancient Glass (guided tour and glass blowing workshop)
20.00 – formal dinner, awarding of certificates and closure of the Summer School (the venue of the final evening will be announced later)

Departure

Afternoon activities are optional and will not be held if fewer than 5 candidates apply.
Mandatory classes are as indicated in the programme.
During the workweek, between 2pm and 6 pm, students are offered intensive conversation practice through individual afternoon classes (classes are to be held in classroom 007 at the University of Zadar). These lessons cost extra and are organized in consultation with teachers.
Students can purchase textbooks at the University bookstore.

The organizer has the right to change the programme at any time.

The International Summer School of Croatian Language, Literature and Culture “Zoranic’s Arcady” will develop your speaking, reading, and writing skills in Croatian language and will offer you an excellent insight into relevant factors of the Croatian cultural identity. Its courses in language and culture will guide you through a little arcadia of knowledge in one of most beautiful and culturally invaluable towns on the Adriatic. The summer school is going to be held at the University of Zadar, situated at the seashore, with a wonderful view on the nearby islands. The University building is located in the proximity of all town sights, museums, churches, and the unique Zadar sea organ.

Međunarodna ljetna škola hrvatskoga jezika, književnosti i kulture „Zoranićeva arkadija“ osposobit će vas za tečnu i pravilnu upotrebu hrvatskoga jezika u govorenju, čitanju i pisanju, ali i upoznati s bitnim čimbenicima hrvatskoga kulturnog identiteta. Svojim programom jezičnih tečajeva i kulturoloških predavanja uvest će vas u pravu malu arkadiju znanja i to u jednom od najljepših i kulturno najbogatijih gradova na Jadranu. Ljetna škola održava se na Sveučilištu u Zadru koje je smješteno na samoj morskoj obali, s pogledom na obližnje otoke. Zgrada Sveučilišta u neposrednoj je blizini svih gradskih znamenitosti, muzeja, crkava i jedinstvenih morskih orgulja.
