Ukratko, ljubiteljica Silbe.
At the workshop, which will last one afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with traditional dances and traditional costume of the island of Silba. The beautiful island of Silba is located northwest of Zadar, often referred to as the door of Dalmatia.
The Original Folk Group "Silba" is a musical dance ensemble of a long tradition, that is since year 1966 dedicated to the protection and promotion of folk heritage of the island of Silba. To this day this group preserved five original dances: silbenski tanac, quatro passi, boem, šotiš and postolina. These dances are performed regularly on folklore events across the country. Participants of the Summer School will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with silbenski tanac, boem and postolina.
Traditional costume of the island of Silba is dating from the 18th century, and was modelled by the portrait of the newlyweds, prepared in oil on canvas in year 1747. Currently, in collaboration with the Museum of Ethnology, The Original Folk Group "Silba" is working on the reconstruction of male costumes of the island of Silba.
Matilda Sindičić, workshop leader, is president of The Original Folk Group "Silba", leader of summer school of traditional dances of the island of Silba, member of Silba's Association for the Protection of Nature... In short, a lover of Silba.
